Amazon prep bags vs. suffocation warning bags

Same bag, two names. “Amazon prep bags” is what FBA sellers call the clear poly bags they bag units in before sending them to a fulfillment center. “Suffocation warning bags” describes the printed warning those bags have to carry. Amazon requires the warning on any poly bag with an opening of 5" or more, printed on the bag or on an attached label, in a font size that scales with the bag.   • 12x15" – 14x20": hoodies, multi-packs and bundled sets
  • 19x24": oversize apparel, bedding and pillows

All bags are 1.5 mil clear polyethylene with a self-seal adhesive strip: thick enough to protect through FBA handling, thin enough to keep dimensional weight down. Most prep operations standardize on two or three sizes and bag everything.

FAQ

Are Amazon prep bags the same as suffocation warning bags? Yes. Amazon prep bags are clear, self-sealing poly bags used to prep units for FBA, and because most of them have an opening of 5" or more, they carry the suffocation warning. Every bag in this collection ships with the warning already printed, sized to the bag.

Are these compliant for Amazon FBA? Yes. The printed warning meets Amazon's poly-bag requirement for bags with a 5"+ opening, and the bags are transparent, fully sealed and 1.5 mil, the common FBA prep spec. Pair them with your normal FNSKU labeling and confirm current rules in Seller Central before a large run.

Do bags under 5" need the warning? Amazon's rule applies at 5" openings and larger, but many sellers standardize on printed bags across all sizes so nothing gets flagged.
