Most shippers stock too many mailer sizes. In practice, two well-chosen sizes cover 80%+ of orders for a typical e-commerce catalog. Here's the chart we give our wholesale customers, with real-world contents for each size.

How to measure what you need
Lay the product flat, measure width and length, then add roughly 2 inches to the width and 3 inches to the length for seams, gusseting around the product, and the fold-over lip. If the product has real thickness (a hoodie, a boxed item), add the thickness to BOTH dimensions.
Pick two sizes, not six
Every extra SKU you stock is cash sitting on a shelf and a picking mistake waiting to happen. Pull your last 200 orders, bucket them by garment count, and you'll almost always land on one everyday size (usually 9x12 or 10x13) plus one big size (12x15.5 or 14.5x19). Stock those two deep, and keep a case of an oversize for the exceptions.
Thickness matters more than size
A correctly-sized mailer in a flimsy film still fails. For most parcel networks, 2.5 mil is the sweet spot — real puncture resistance without paying for plastic you don't need.
